Bobby Smith

Biography:

"Hello, dear reader. Thank you for accessing my file. I will now sketch in some details about me that you may, or may not, find informative.

I’m a handsome (!) young man of 32 who has been writing for some 12 years. I have tried my hand at most types of writing - ranging from romantic fiction to my current opus ‘The Armageddon Pact’ - an action packed anti-war novel that incorporates many actual events of World War II. This may now get you thinking that I’m just an opportunist who is writing about the subject in the aftermath of the ‘Saving Private Ryan’ film and the Beevor ‘Stalingrad’ book. However, nothing could be further from the truth. My life long interest in history, and World War II in particular, stems from the Guy Sajer classic autobiography ‘The Forgotten Soldier’. Even if you decline to purchase my book I hope you read this emotive memoir to the horrors of war.

In addition to the ‘Armageddon Pact’ I write regular columns for the magazines; ‘A Load of Bull’, ‘Kick in the balls’ and the ‘Suffragette’. These primarily concern football and the other love in my life - music. I have also had a chapter published in a book relating to Wolverhampton Wanderers - ‘We are Wolves’.

In addition to my literary pursuits my creative urge has overflowed to the extent that I play guitar and sing - leading to the release of three records. Suffice to say that I have not yet made the top ten, hence my desire to achieve my fifteen minutes of fame via my novel.
This is my second novel and my first attempt at publishing a book over the net. Being an ardent punk rocker I feel more comfortable via the internet medium as it cuts out the corporations who would otherwise dictate to the masses what we should read!
Well, that’s my speech over, so I say thanks again for reading my CV and sample chapter. It just remains for me to say: ‘Go ahead punk and make my day!!!!!’ ".
