Biography:
Cally Anne Highfield, a typical drama-queen of a Sagittarian, was born on the 5th of December 1985 in Liverpool, England, where she still currently lives.
Her inspirations when it comes to writing are the likes of Tennessee Williams, Neil Gaiman, Marc Almond, and James O'Barr, the work of whom she could quite happily enjoy forever.
As well as writing, she enjoys reading comic books + graphic novels, drawing art for comic books + graphic novels, watching films (and often shouting at the characters in them when need be!), going on the 'net and dressing up (with dodgy make-up!) to go out and be, as they say, 'social'...
She loves cats, video games, synthpop + post-punk music, the smell of cooking noodles, getting fan-art, things with blue stars on them, collecting kitschy things, and shopping for comics and vinyl records.
In the author's own words...
I generally write about the so-called "misfits" of societies (gays + lesbians, transvestites, transgendered people, prostitutes, addicts, the paranoid, the obsessive, the dramatic, flawed beauties, angels, demons, sailors, torch singers, lonely older folk, ugly ducklings, dying swans, the insane, mysterious and mythical creatures and so on and so forth), and about things most often than not known as 'taboo'. I don't write these things to 'shock' people, or to get attention. I write them because I either live them or love them. I write about what I know and what fascinates me- normal suburban life is just not interesting unless the characters in it have their stories to tell, and more often than not it's those who are not listened to, or are shunned upon, who hold the most fantastic tales within them.
