Biography:
I use my real name, am 59 years old and live in Stourbridge, West Midlands, UK. I have an 'ex' and two sons. My 'day' job is that of a qualified valuer specialising in hotels and pubs. So, why write a book?
Since my childhood I have been a fan of that much underrated medium - the radio. My work has always involved a lot of travelling both in the UK and Canada, whilst on the road I tuned into stories. Over time the seeds of my own story took root. One winter's night I took a pen and an A4 pad with no more intention than writing down a skeletal outline of my story - four pages - no more. 14 years later the manuscript, in its present form, was finished. In the mean time I had my work and I completed a photographic book on the river Severn - 'Severn Vista'.
During the writing of 'The Tanngnost', the researching and the travelling to many of the locations I met people who were very helpful, who extended many courtesies to me and who took an interest in what I was doing. Above all I acknowledge my indebtedness to my 'ex', Diana, off whom I bounced ideas, who typed the original manuscript and retyped it along with many editings. Without Diana's assistance ' The Tanngnost' would not have seen the light of day.
