Frances Spiegel was born in Bushey, Hertfordshire, and has made London, England, her home where she lives with her husband, Ron, and two children, Mark and Sara.
Until recently Frances worked in the field of disabled sports and holds a BA Honours Degree from the Open University in History & Politics.
Ride the Rocket - Toronto Enabled is the author's first book exploring the City of Toronto.
Through her experiences as a writer with mobility problems Frances assesses the suitability, or otherwise, of many of the city's most famous attractions for disabled visitors.
A developing thread throughout the novel is the development of Frances' friendship with her newly discovered Canadian family.
