Biography:
Harry Berry was born in Islington, North London, of working-class parents on 1st December 1916.
At the local council Central School he learned shorthand, typing and other commercial subjects. His father taught him music and to play the piano.
By sheer luck he obtained a job as secretary/editorial assistant on a London evening paper, "The Star"
