Publishing Life's Next Chapter
Ida Pollock

Biography:

Ida Pollock began writing fiction when she was in her very early teens, and before she was twenty had several short novels in print. While visiting a publisher's office she met her future husband, the charismatic Major Hugh Pollock, DSO, and soon after his divorce from children's writer Enid Blyton they were married at London's Guildhall register office. She began writing for Mills&Boon, and soon she was producing ten or twelve titles in every year. Four more publishers were to follow, and after the success of her first historical novel, The Gentle Masquerade, Mills and Boon's Masquerade series was launched.

After her husband's death Ida lived abroad for several years, travelling betweeen Switzerland (which she loves), Italy, France, Ireland and Malta, but these days home is an idyllic village in south-east Cornwall. When not writing she enjoys painting in oils, and she also makes model houses, usually scale miniatures of Georgian or Tudor buildings.

She has one daughter, Rosemary, who is also a writer.
