Jack Holsgove was born in Elstree and was one of the first to join the LDV (Dad's Army) before enlisting in the RAF in 1941. He setup his own property development business two years after demobilization and is now semi-retired and lives in Poole, Dorset where he, through Rotary, is involved in fostering overseas relations with Germany and France.
