Sue Rule

Biography:

Sue Rule lives with her husband alongside an old Roman road in the Eden Valley in Kent. She is Marketing Director of a computer systems consultancy company, mother of two grown-up daughters, and old enough to want to forget birthdays.

Sue has spent her working life organising other people and her fantasy life re-writing history. This is currently coming to fruition in the creation of the Shaihen Heritage series, a fictional history which has the potential to cover a couple of millenia of love, loss, confusion and adventure.  The name “she-haios" means "the home of the spirit of life" and the "Shaihen Heritage" is the Shaihen peoples' intuitive understanding of that mysterious force which created mankind and the world we all live in. Anyone can be a Shaihen, if they want to be.

Book 1, Cloak of Magic was published by Authors On Line in 2006 and Book 2, Staff of Power in 2010. Book 3 Spirit of Shehaios will be published in late 2010/early 2011. This first trilogy weaves a "solid, well-written tale" (British Fantasy Society) "The setting of Shehaios and the Empire are described in vibrant detail, the Empire being reminiscent in places of Rome in its pomp. The author's love of history and folklore shine through and help produce and refreshing and involving story that can be favourably compared to Gemmell and Feist." (FantasyFictionUK).

Sue is also a singer and musician, song-writer and performer with folk group Pig’s Ear, (www.pigs-sty.com) who are frequently to be found playing in pubs, clubs and festivals in the South East.

A love of words started Sue writing and learning the craft, and she is passionate about good quality writing. The experience of publishing with Authors On Line has turned her into a campaigner for change in the publishing and book industry, aimed at giving all authors a better deal and ensuring books are judged on merit alone: not on who pays for the publication process.
