Synopsis

For many years we, at Cutlers' Hall, have been aware that our extensive collections of medals, badges and cutlery have been little known to the public. It is with great pleasure, therefore, that I welcome the publication of the first part of a catalogue of our collection of medals and badges.

The first part is devoted to medals and badges associated directly with livery companies; part 2, which is in the course of preparation, will cover medals and badges associated with the Corporation of the City of London and with other guilds in the United Kingdom and Europe.
