Shout it loud and clear: \"We're from Batley and tha can't tell us nowt\"....And as the echoes recede, 45 years have shot by as fast as Dopey Don on his scooter!
I first cast eyes on Taylor's Mill and Dewsbury Town Hall in May 1956 as a \"comer-in\" - a mere stripling from Stroud in the heart of Cider-with-Rosie country. But I've grown up as a Shoddy Town lad, living a life of fun and laughter in the Dewsbury and Batley of old.
Join me on a trip down Bradford Road of the 1960's. Meet Dopey Don, Cuckoo and Eric the Fireman; enjoy Muffitt's Last Stand on the football fields of the West Riding Old Boys' League; get out with the Batley lads on their camping trips to North Wales.
Go on! Spoil yourself! Take some time off while you nip up the snicket of time gone by - and have a \"reight good laugh......\"
