Veil Of Iskara

Synopsis

Veil is a fantasy quest of around 78,000 words. It is the story of Bolo, a rather dim witted ogre whose primary concern seems to be to fill his belly. An outcast from his own tribe he lives a lonely existence until he meets up with Wheiid, a wood nymph and heir to the throne of the forest. An evil sorcerer has stolen her mystical amulet - the key to the forest’s vitality - and is using it to lure her to his citadel where he intends to take her as his bride.

She, of course, is repulsed by the idea and enlists Bolo’s help in regaining the amulet. The sorcerer sends Balashoth, a creature from the realms of nightmare, to ensure Wheiid’s safe passage but also to dispose of her protective ogre. The pair manage to escape from Balashoth by enlisting the help of three magical artefacts and a couple of friendly natives they encounter on their travels.

The artefacts, a shield, a sword and the enchanted Veil of Iskara are not come by easily and even with their magical protection gaining entrance to the sorcerers citadel is no simple matter. Fortunately, the evil sorcerer is not well liked and many of the enslaved occupants of his mountain fortress would like to see him overthrown or preferably dead. It is with their aid that defences are breached, chaos created and the sorcerer confronted in an epic battle of good against evil.

Can a young girl and a mentally challenged ogre succeed against the power of dark magic? Can they evade the demonic fate that Balashoth has in store for them? And can they retrieve the mystical amulet before the peaceful forest creatures meet their doom…?
