THE DIARY OF A P.O.W.
NOVEMBER 4TH 1943 TO FEBRUARY 7TH 1944
November 4th:
Left Taihoku (Taiwan) POW Camp at 08.00 hours with two others for unknown destination. Told only that we are going to an excellent camp with plenty of food and no worries! Driven to station and then left by train at 9.30 a.m., arriving at Takao port at 4.30 p.m. where we were told we were going on a ship. Some hitch and the 18 of us (others picked up from various POW Camps down the line) go to a nearby POW Camp (Haiti) arriving there about 10 p.m.
November 5th & 6th:
Waiting at Haiti POW Camp. No work. Food not bad.
November 7th:
Left Haiti Camp at 1 p.m. Driven to local station and then on to Takao. Board vessel
