Synopsis

A young girl is left motherless and finds the safe and happy home in which she had been brought up disappear as her father seems to distance himself from her and finds other interests. Margot has inherited from her mother a love of painting, and when she is sent away from home, she believes she is being entered into an art college. But she discovers that her father has a different future planned for her. In the alien world of which she has become part, she is more than unhappy, but puts up with the drudgery until the day she is rescued and finds there is more to life than she has been subjected to.
