Restless Waves
Author
Miller H. Caldwell
"...Madeira, the Carribean, Brazil, the stormy south Atlantic Ocean, Auckland next, Sydney, then Perth, Cape Town, Dakar in West Africa then home to Southampton. Want to go all the way?"
Passengers on the luxury cruise ship, The Eros, sail from Southampton on a four month tour around the world. Writer in Residence Geoff Varley is employed by the shipping company to give guidance to passengers who aspire to keep diaries of their holiday adventure on these Restless Waves, while others are promising poets or entering the genre of short story writing. Geoff befriends Captain Barnett and together they solve many mysteries onboard ship.
Poetry rolls from the sea while the author Miller H. Caldwell unfolds a different story from every port of call along the way. Passengers have their own problems, and life's stories unfold while they take part in writing competitions. A poetry competition reveals more than expected and the Writer in Residence becomes involved in more than just teaching. In Basseterre, in the Carribean, a drug ring is exposed.
Beautiful scenery is unveiled throughout detailed storytelling.
Geoff's wife, Jo, greets him in Sydney in a planned surprise. Jo leaves a written message after she wins a large sum of money in the casino. A dilemma must now be solved before Geoff returns to England. In West Africa Geoff knows exactly what to do and matches the windfall with a donation of his own.
Restless Waves is a wonderful novel that can be read at leisure, and enjoyed anytime. Miller Caldwell is also the author of Operation Oboe, which is being prepared for the film market at present.

Excerpt
The Captain slept well in the knowledge that the competition had been a success but neither Captain nor writer in residence slept as soundly as the occupant of Inside third deck cabin 43. He remained oblivious to the discreet observation of his movements and the activity of the Essex Police, already in flight. It was Clive Fotheringill's last night aboard the Eros.
