Through A Glass Darkly

Reviews

WRITER from Nuneaton is celebrating getting her very first book to print with rave reviews coming in from readers.

Yvonne Lee from Weddington has published 'Through a Glass Darkly' which is on sale now via the Amazon website.
Mrs Lee is currently waiting to take part in a number of book signings to highlight her imaginative work of fiction and she has nearly completed her next book which is said to be 'a bit darker'.
"I'm waiting to do a book signing at Waterstones and the Christian Book Shop are interested too," said Mrs Lee, a former singer and actress who works part-time as a carer in Arley.
"I've written three others but this is the first time that one of my books has actually been published. It took me about a year and a half to write and people seem to be enjoying it."
Through a glass darkly is a well-known phrase which means that humans are an imperfect perception of reality and that is something true of Mrs Lee's book which tells the story of gifted young artist Irene.
Irene always paints with a large mirror strategically positioned behind her as an aid with perspective. As she puts the finishing touches to her latest painting, she stands back from the canvas to look at its reflection in the mirror and is shocked to see an extremely tall man half hidden by trees staring back at her.
Having not put a figure in the painting she can't understand where he's come from. When she looks back at the canvas itself there is no-one there.
She quickly gazes back at the mirror, and is astounded to see that the glass has somehow taken on the appearance of liquid. Fascinated she tentatively puts her hand out to touch it and in a split second finds herself transported into the world of her own painting.
Once inside, Irene finds a strange and exciting place where she meets the mysterious tall man and many other characters - some quite terrifying, and so begins an adventure which will test every ounce of her courage and faith.
"I've nearly finished another fantasy, and this one's a bit darker," added Mrs Lee, who has worked with Harry H Corbett of Steptoe and Son fame in the past and sung at the London night club made famous by the Profumo Affair.
"The book is on sale on Amazon with a recommended retail price of £9.95. I hope people enjoy it."
