Who am I?

Who are you? How would you answer this question? Would you instantly say one of the following statements?

* I am a Mother/Father * Husband/Wife
* Partner/Spouse * A Builder
* Salesperson  * Administrator
* Student * Brother/Sister
* Accountant * Mechanic
* Painter * Carer/Nurse
* Lawyer  * Hairdresser
* A refuse collector  * Undertaker

Well! You are none of these things.
First and foremost you are a soul, a spiritual being or energy.  You don't have a soul; you are one. Your true home is called many things like; heaven, God, the all, the now, the universe, paradise, the Garden of Eden, nirvana, the cosmos, I am consciousness, and the creator, depending on your belief systems. This is where we belong, we always did and we always will.

You are "YOU”. You are a soul, a being of infinite love and light, and a perfect expression of the creator's energy. You are a soul in a physical body, not a body that has a soul. As a spiritual being/soul you are on a continuing journey of expansion and wisdom gathering. This never-ending growth adventure will take you ever upwards and onwards back to the heavens, oneness and the godhead.

You are on a visit to planet earth to "experience"life.  As a soul you know all there is to know, so you came here to practice what you know. Planet earth is a place where we can actually turn our ideas and concepts into a reality. It is a spiritual adventure in living and experiencing, and then reaping the wisdom from our actions and choices.

You may well play one or several of the aforementioned roles, but they are not who you are. They are one or several of the various roles and parts you will opt to "play"in the vast production of life. At any given point in time you may choose to relinquish or change any one of these roles and it is your unquestionable right to do so.

When you are defining yourself, make sure you are not measuring your worth or value by the roles that you are currently playing. You are so much more than that. The people who judge your intellectual ability, community value, or personal success by the role that you are currently undertaking, are very small-minded people indeed.

The people you meet who "judge"you, belittle you, or snobbishly shun you because of your occupation are telling you a great deal about themselves and their limited understanding and view of life. They have the problem, not you. The most treasured person in my daily life is my garbage man. If this wonderful man did not come every week and take care of my refuse it would not be long before I would be at grave risk of disease, typhoid to name but one. I see this team of men as doing me the greatest of services. Yes! All hail the Garbage men. However, I bet there are very few parents who would encourage any one of their children to make a career of Garbage Disposal.

Your "job"may indicate the type of experiences that you are having, the healing service you are performing and the natural skills you may be discovering, but that is all. You are an amazing intelligent form of energy that is capable of wondrous and amazing things.

"When I go out I am very loath to enter into conversations with people because I always feel much judged because of my occupation. I am a road builder and as such I am supposed to be dumb and lazy, people assume that this is the only job I am capable of doing. My background is one of business, which I abandoned because of the mental stress. I thoroughly enjoy my new role and feel I am making a great contribution to the community with my role. I feel as if I am forced to "prove"myself because of my job. Any suggestions?"                                                        R.J.

So many people in our community are subjected to this mean spirited, judgmental view of people and life. Know this! Feel very secure in the knowledge that this is the other person's problem, not yours. Maintain your dignity and self respect and do not enter into having to "prove yourself"to anyone.

Your Life Purpose

 "Julia would you please explain to me more about my life purpose or my plan.  I "left"the church where my parents worship a long time ago, and have more of a spiritual view of these things now.”      J.D.

Your journey this lifetime began out there in the universe where you were thinking about what you would like to experience next. These considerations would comprise of what would be exciting, motivating and worthwhile and assist your continuing journey towards oneness.

When you made your decision, you then asked for help and expertise to achieve these experiences and to fulfil your dreams and goals. That way you would be certain that you will return to earth fully equipped with all of the answers to any of the experiences you will encounter.

At this point a team of angels, guides, spirit guides, helpers, teacher, masters, great ancestors, ancient ones, wise ones, whatever you choose to call them, will offer their wisdom to assist you in your purpose. It matters not a jot what you call them, the point is that this wise energy force exists. Together you enter into a sacred spiritual contract, and they commit to assist you in all matters pertaining to your life plan and purpose.

Only you, your Angels, and the creator/God know what your spiritual plan is, so that is why connection to the higher pure energy realms is so essential. No other person on earth has this privileged information, which is why they are not always the best source of direction for your life. Rest assured your Helpers/Guides will unfold your direction to you as and when you need to know, and always in the perfect time.

What you may perceive your life path or direction to be, from your limited earthly view, is so often out of alignment with your spiritual plan or purpose. You may think or believe that you will have a loving life partner and children because that is the normal or common plan. However, in reality, this path or idea may be far from the truth about your personal journey.

Your life purpose is not an occupation. Let me repeat that. Your life purpose is not a particular occupation. The spiritual plan you mapped out for yourself is about experiencing facets of the universal/spiritual laws. Your purpose is discovering how to live within the balance and harmony of as many of these laws as possible. For example:

The spiritual law of Trust
The spiritual law of Manifesting
The spiritual law of Letting Go
The spiritual law of Flow
The spiritual law of Healing
The spiritual law of Living in the Now
The spiritual law of Prosperity
The spiritual law of Faith
(For more details on these laws see Diana Coopers book"A Little Light on the Spiritual Laws)

Much of your unhappiness is caused because you assume that your life purpose "should"be a certain way or fit your view or perspective of the world in which we all live. Most of your stress is caused because you are trying to fit into or live up to a standard or mandatory plan that is set by someone else, or sectors of the society.

The major part of your personal growth is to search within for your own truth. This means testing your values or beliefs to sense or see if indeed they are yours, and to ask if they are serving your growth as a soul or are they restricting your life. Are you trying to squeeze a square peg (you) into a round hole? A very wise psychologist once described it to me as like "trying to squeeze a battleship motor into a mini car”.

Many of your beliefs, views and expectations of life may not be serving your life plan. If this is so, search to find ways of thinking and living that help you to be the greatest, kindest, most understanding, and fun, compassionate, loving version of you that you can be. This is the core and purpose of spiritual growth.

"I don't know what I am meant to be doing. I "Know"I have a purpose because I can feel it deep within me. I feel I want to be a healer but I am not sure how to go about it. I feel restless at work and unclear on what to do with my life. Can you shed some light on my life for me please?”    Sue

It is important for you to understand that you have been living your plan or purpose from the moment you were born. How could you not be? When you experience a deep inner restlessness, it means that you are nearing a time when a bigger picture about your path here will be shown or revealed to you. Don't try to force things to happen. Make a pledge to yourself and with the universe that you are ready to move into the next phase of your life plan. Then let it go and in the right time the right experiences will come into form.
