Maurice thought to himself one day, like you do when your mind is
just pondering on the nothings of life,
The sea is HUGE, I mean really big, enormously wide and ever so deeply deep too
Then he thought I wonder what it must be like to be just a tiny drop in that sea? –
As his father passed his bedroom door, he called out, “Dad?”
“Do I get the feeling this is one of your HUGE questions coming up Maurice?”
“Well, yes Dad, I guess so, I was wondering what it must be like to be just a tiny drop in the sea?”
“Well Maurice, I think the drop feels just like we do. It’s rather like us, people I
mean, we are all drops in an ocean too, an ocean called ‘mind’ or consciousness”.
“Our consciousness, is all one”.
“You’re really looking at you when you look at someone else”.
“It’s the same for the drop, for in every tiny drop is everything that there is in the
whole sea, they are all one and the same as well”.
“All your friends, like the droplets in the sea are to each other, are just like you.
In fact because we all share God at our Highermost Self, your friends are you!”
“Just think Maurice, when you are kind to somebody, out of no reason but just
because it comes naturally from the heart, and you don’t need anything in return, you are being kind to YOU too!”
“Our choices in life have all been created by our HUGE mind, like the sea is to the
droplet, when it moves according to the tides, the drop moves as well.
Even though the drop may feel it’s separate, it’s not. It’s part of the sea and pretty
much goes most of its life, with the way the sea wants it to go”.
“Can you do one of your pictures for me Dad, so I’ll understand better?”
“Of course, let me get my pencils and some paper”.
Maurice secretly liked this bit the best, when his father drew a picture for him to help explain a HUGE question. It helped him understand the equally HUGE answer better too!
