Synopsis

The MacTaggart children - Angus, Giles and Maggie - arrive on Scotland's island of Skerra to stay in Kennevara, their Aunt Catriona's seaside guesthouse. They find her distressed by her failing bed-and-breakfast business. Her bank is threatening to repossess Kennevara unless she pays the next installment on her loan. A medical emergency whisks her away to the mainland, leaving the children to fend for themselves. When the owner of Skerra's big hotel telephones to request Kennevara's help with a last-minute overflow of arrivals, Angus accepts the lucrative deal 'on behalf of his aunt'. A hilarious scramble of inspired improvisation begins as the MacTaggarts attempt to cater to the demands and complaints of their eccentric guests. Hard-up local crofters, posh summer folk and a menacing crook fill out the cast of characters in this rollicking suspense-filled adventure.
