China, A democratic world?
In the way of the new capitalism, every Chinese needs to have sufficient money in order to vote freely. Many Chinese are dreaming of democratic sovereignty: Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and many other nations.
China
The Chinese still call themselves communists, but now they're also capitalists and communists. The government has money and power and controls China using the Communist Party. The Communist Party is the only party. Big brother government.
The Groups
The corporations are both public and private. The have money, they have power. Public and private corporations are subsidized by central government. The corporations need market solutions. PetroChina Co. almost tripled on its first day of trading in Shanghai, 5 November 2007, becoming the world's first company to be valued at $1 trillion, larger than the entire Russian stock market. “China is all but certain to experience its fourth consecutive year of double-digit growth in 2007 and is expected to soon overtake Germany as the world's number three economy” (Wen, November 2007).
The People
The Chinese people themselves have no money and no power. They don't have freedom of speech of freedom of the press. The authorities can arrest and imprison people who threaten stability, as the party defines. Anybody that dares to protest is treated brutally. There are no civil liberties, no labor unions, no centers of political power outside the Communist Party. The Chinese people are gradually becoming richer, but need much more individual wealth, if they are ever to have free elections.
Hong Kong – Macau
“One country, two systems” Deng said that Hong Kong and Macau would maintain capitalism for 50 years. Hong Kong is the back door to China, and China is embracing Hong Kong's capitalism. China's communism is being swallowed by Hong Kong's market. The Chinese market is difficult to penetratem but those who base themselves in Hong Kong may be able to control their own destinies.
Macau
“One country, two systems”
Taiwan
The government have money and power and free economic growth. Taiwan has a democratic government.
Groups
The private corporations have money , and they also have power. These corporations use market solutions.
People
Only the 23 million people of Taiwan have the right to make decisions on Taiwan's future and destiny/ The idea of “One China” is a rusty antique. Taiwan is not China, it has become something much better, an outpost of liberty.

Despite what the title suggests, the story is an off-the-wall dark comedy set in a small village on the Welsh Marches of Shropshire. Life seems to be almost too good to be true in picturesque Frox-Wells - though the healthy nature of the village doesn't suit all its inhabitants. Embittered by lack of trade in recent years, undertaker Sydney "Snuffy" Bedford conspires with cronies to implement a scheme to fund their early retirement. The local doctor's reluctance to participate in the plan seems to be the only stumbling block, though circumstances provide an opportunity to ‘persuade' him to co-operate. Along with the doctor's services come those of his newly found acquaintance, Joe, an Italian ex-prisoner of war who refused to go home when peace was declared. Whilst the conspiracy is still at an embryonic stage, the schemers realise they have neither the stomachs nor the necessary degree of malevolence to carry out their original plan. Snuffy, however, comes up with a mutually acceptable idea, and all appears to be going well despite the intervention of the local bobby. Then Sneyd - an ex-employee of Snuffy's with a penchant for blackmail - intervenes... and insists that, as was originally planned, "death must go on."

By this time the local constabulary have - for altogether the wrong reasons - taken an interest in the goings on at Frox-Wells, and converge on the band of conspirators to find that at least one of the villagers has died in mysterious circumstances... Though all is not as it seems.

Anna: Collected Writings of a Russian Prostitute in Korea is a work of fiction, but is written in a form which could immediately relate to life… A collection of letters, diary-pages, scribbles, etc. Anna's hopeful vision of the future and of Russia is explored in her correspondence with Olga, who also lives in Russia, leading to an understanding of their economic predicament. They decide to work abroad, Anna in Korea and Olga in America. But what lies ahead for them is deception, fraud and even violence.

Anna writes letters and keeps a diary, at first she writes about the feeling of refreshment and attachment as she begins a new life in Korea. However, one incident after another in Korea leads to problems and she feels suffocation and demoralised, until Anna(together with Olga in America) becomes entangled in tragic violence…

This is the story of a family in the industrial heartland of Britain whose life is profoundly altered by an event of war, and of the others that play a part in the lives of the members of the family, and who share a common goal of survival in dangerous times.

The scene opens as across the city the air-raid warning sounds and Ted and June take their two young sons, Peter and Richard, into the Anderson shelter. The parents make the children as comfortable as possible in the damp, dimly lit, interior of this place. Just one of the many routine hardships of life in wartime.

As the bombs are heard exploding in the distance, June sees signs that her husband is disturbed by this. She knows that he still suffers from the shell shock that was the cause of his recent discharge from the Royal Navy; a subject Ted won't talk about.

Contemplation is banished by the terrifying noise of an aircraft overhead, and then the shattering sound of an explosion close by. This time the bombs have hit the adjacent terrace of houses, not the usual industrial target. In the aftermath of the massive explosion Ted leaves the shelter to investigate the damage, and this leads to an encounter that will change all their lives.

Alas, poor Shakespeare, we knew him well but not exactly in a way we used to. If Will was with us today I think he’d feel duty bound to reflect life as it really is in the 21st century; living, as he would be, on the front line in Stratford upon Avon with his fit bitch Ann Hathaway.

However, nowadays Shakespeare isn’t as cool as he used to be because a lot of people think he’s boring and lacks street cred. Perhaps. But if the Bard was living today I reckon he’d say “Am I bovvered?” After all, for a man accredited with the greatest literature ever written, what would he have to prove?

No, if William Shakespeare was of this age I am certain that he would still be writing in the Globe turf, getting loads of respect from the Stratford upon Avon massive and producing works of pure genius like ‘Romeo and His Fit Bitch Jools’, ‘De Taming of de Bitch’, ‘Macbeff’ and ‘Two Geezas of Verona’.

However, for all the purists reading this brief introduction I would just like to say that this abridged collection of some of Shakespeare’s finest work has been mindful to stay true to the original format by retaining all the important sexist, duplicitous, cross-dressing and violent moments that made William Shakespeare well wicked.

This book is a sequel to `Tales from a Kitbag' which recounted stories from the author's time as a regular soldier serving in the Korean War and Malayan Emergency.

`Tales from a Briefcase' follows Robert James' adventures after leaving the army, starting as a junior supervisor working in a factory in Hammersmith in the mid-fifties, adjusting to civilian life in a London itself awaking to a now phase in the post-war era. He has to overcome being perceived as `officer class', and gain acceptance in his new role from those who control his destiny in management and those who need to be persuaded to work for him - his staff. In the early years he suffers a lumpy ride, facing dismissal on more than one occasion.

Through determination and hard work, Robert learns the civilian way of gaining respect and leading people and begins to climb the management ladder. Evenings find him at night school, studying towards his degree. As his career enters a new phase in the higher levels of factory management he finds himself facing a multitude of human problems on the shop floor, to say nothing of politically driven unions and, worse, the ; egocentric behaviour of business owners.

Skilfully blending conscience with duty, Robert overcomes the human and commercial difficulties of business and the tragedy; of his own family circumstances to emerge with credit from the results. In his break-through to senior management in large international companies, he circles the world to manage overseas subsidiaries and develop business for his masters, in the process encountering yet' more characters, cultures, and situations that will shape his life and outlook. He realises that many of the captains of industry are largely driven by conceit, combined with personal idiosyncrasies and unsavoury morals.

Somehow he has to obey orders yet retain his personal integrity - or resign.

Finally, as an independent business consultant; he works with the owners of small companies; a special breed, generally untutored in management, driven by over-optimism, and each presenting a new and different challenge. Maikiail and lose their money, but a few succeed as bright stars to grow their companies and enjoy the ensuing riches.

Briefcase' is a compelling story of the human side-of-the business world, set against a background of globe-trotting adventures in which the author faces danger and love with equal aplomb. A fascinating and highly recommended read.

During the fifties, the Korean War and the Malayan Emergency committed thousands of young men, regular soldiers and conscripts, to fight communist armies far from home. They faced their task with stoicism and bravery, eventually accomplishing their mission - stemming the tide of communism in the Far East.

The stories in this book are based on fact and tell how it really was for the front-line soldiers in their Korean, snow-covered, hill-top bunkers or in the steaming jungles of Malaya. Without pulling punches, they tell of the heartbreak and futility of war, seemingly un-necessary sacrifice of young lives, death by friendly fire, abuse of prisoners and other distasteful features seen in more recent conflicts.

The still-living combatants will now be in their seventies or older. For them, this book will bring back vivid memories and tell families and friends of their contribution, as young men, to world peace. To younger readers it will give them a taste of combat from over fifty years ago and help them make comparisons with war today.

Born into the Edwardian theatre, she led an adventurous life in South Africa, India and the Far East in the Twenties and Thirties.
Tribal Gathering is a collection of stories set in an imaginary West African state shortly after gaining its independence from the British in 1962. Struggling to come to terms with the tribalism, nepotism, corruption and greed that flourishes at all levels of society is part of everyday-life and relatively simple compared to the problems of surviving three military coups and a civil war. It is against this backdrop and that of a rapidly failing infrastructure that the stories evolve. From the dry heat of the Northern Desert to the suffocating humidity of the Delta, the stories tell of the daily ordeal as the characters try to live out their lives against all the odds. Betrayal, revenge, ignorance, pride and stupidity intermingled with witchcraft, African Deities and Freemasonry, these stories have it all and Ken Ryeland deals with them in his usual consummate way to provide interesting and compelling reading.

This is a life-story about a man's search of an emotionally comfortable place. He was young and sensitive when he came to America in 1970, much attracted to her language as a physics student with that purpose in mind. For 35 years, he makes every effort to stay on in America and fulfil a happy ending of his search, until one day he is virtually forced to leave America; house fire annihilates his past. He loses everything in the fire, and faces the situation back to the square one as if it were 35 years ago.
Given his intellectual principle—invent life, living side by side with “the crisis of senses” which includes that of old age, he in fact confirms what he never intended: an exiled life in America. The theme and theses entwine with reflections on a damaged life in search of the second life, which does not exist in our age of technological knowledge.

And so the Letter of Olysses comes to you sent from America to the Kingdom of Thailand, but it has a self-addressed envelop inside, back to America addressed to every immigrant, because the success of his “second life” in the Kingdom depends on that of the hard-working people who would call their second life “nonbeing,” as you will hear it shortly from Chai-plad-thin, precisely because they do not believe that it['nonbeing'] originates in their knowledge of technology, which they believe, given its immediacy imposed upon as the sole criterion of beings.

The focal point of his search thereof is to see the convergence of the forced second life upon the 'intellectual' home, for those who love a natural, simpler life, the second life without doctrine and without shame; to hold it out to the gigantic metabolism of industrial technology seems no longer powerful as annihilating as the Oedipus' answer:<That being is human being!> was to the riddle of the Sphinx.

Joseph Skledowski, an apothecary taking refuge in England at the time of the Civil War, becomes disillusioned with the efficacy of the medicines of his trade and sceptical of its underlying philosophy. An accident brings him a revelation that leads him to question his alchemical assumptions and sets him on a faltering path towards scientific rationalism. The new life does not does not rid him of old and deadly enemies, inherited from his mentor, who believe him to possess valuable secrets; nor can he avoid the ravages of the Great Fires of Bristol and London.
From an early age Wendy knew that she was different. After years of abuse and years of torment from hearing voices, she struggled through life thinking that she was a schizophrenic, feeling trapped and alone. After struggling through university, jobs and difficult relationships, she found the right life path in complementary therapies. She began to find a new lease of life and new openings to the ‘gifts’ that she had. She not only found that she had a wonderful healing ability but also that she had a fantastic psychic ability. She found that the voices that she had heard throughout her life were not that of her own mind but from the psychic blackness and smog that lives with us. She found a way to control and conquer these voices and put her gift to a good use of helping others through doing healings and clairvoyant readings. Not only has her own life changed but she has changed the life of so many others.

Sculptors and Architects of Remembrance is the fourth book written by Mark Quinlan. It is a companion to the volumes Remembrance and British War Memorials. Given the growing interest in all aspects of the war memorial issue, one piece of the jigsaw that has been consistently overlooked is the lives of those who designed and carried out the work. This book therefore consists of single pages of biography of the 124 sculptors, architects and artists - all of whom, over the last three centuries, have sculpted Britain’s war memorials, military statuary, funerary monuments and designed the nation’s war cemeteries. Dealing with each individual in chronological order, this book commences with the virtuoso woodcarver Grinling Gibbons and concludes with the lives of seven still-living distinguished sculptors.

The twenty two chapters in this book are pictorial and written representations of each one of the archetypal images depicted in the Major Arcana of the Tarot, however it is not a means of divination. It is a daily spiritual practice, or an aid at times of crisis or a gentle reminder of where and who you are at any given time. The paintings and writings are there with the sole intention of helping you on this rich but sometimes confusing path of life.

The Illustrations were inspired by Ayesha's Heart, which is the story of a Goddess from birth to enlightenment. The Oracles are words of wisdom. My Stories are personal reflections by the Author. The Meditations are to help you to get in touch with your truth. The Poems are a personal yet universal journey. The Magic contains practical tools which can be used to aid a deeper connection with the writing, the meditations and the illustrations.

Each of the chapters can stand alone or be read as part of the whole. It is a journey into the heart of one's own true self.

How to Use This Book

Ayesha’s Heart, The Oracle, My Story by Lea Cowin
I have worked and continue to work with the archetypal images of the tarot for myself and others for many years. These three writings contain many different layers of meanings.
Ayesha’s Heart is the story of the cyclical journey of a Goddess. The Oracles are words of wisdom and My Stories are personal reflections on the profound effects I have seen and experienced both in my own life and in others. The changes have manifested in all ways – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. It is this evidence that has led me to want to share the possibilities of working with these energies with a wider audience.

The Illustrations by Mariea Janke
These wonderful paintings were inspired by Ayesha’s story – “Ayesha’s Heart” which is a journey of a Goddess into the hidden meanings and mysteries of life.

The Meditations by Lea Cowin
All these meditations are written in such a way that you can work with them many times.
Each experience will be different and so deepen your understanding.
Each meditation need take no longer than 10 minutes.
Don’t worry if you’ve never ‘meditated’ before just ‘read and ponder’ that will be enough! Just find a quiet time when you won’t be disturbed and you can really relax into it.

A CD of the 22 meditations, spoken by Lea, is available.
Email: ayeshasheart@btinternet.com with your name and address.
One will be forwarded to you free of charge.

The Poems by Sandra Maund
Sandra’s personal journey is revealed in these writings and yet they are universal and each one of us can identify with the pain and joy described so beautifully.

The Magic
The other contributors to this book have used their many years of expertise and wisdom to bring together just a few of the ways you can help strengthen your connection with any particular chapter.

Essential Oils by Fran Doidge
These oils can be used in an oil burner, a few drops on your pillow at night or even in your bath. They will certainly also help if used in an oil burner during meditation. Instructions on how to use essential oils safely can be found in the Quick Guide to the Magic

Colours by Julia Thomas
The energy in the colour enhances the meanings and illustrations of each chapter. Wear something of the colour or have something with that colour around you if you find yourself drawn to one particular chapter on any given day.

Essences by Hazel Rouse
The essences have been inspired by and created specifically for this book. They each have a name which carries the energy of the chapter. These vibrational essences can help in accessing the words and images more deeply and can clear old energies or bring in new ones as you need.

Statements by Lea Cowin
These are based on the practice of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and if used as a mantra saying them over and over again can help release blockages.

Chakras by Lea Cowin
For those of you who wish to focus on clearing the energy bodies through the Chakras I have identified these where appropriate.

Trees
It is with thanks to Fred Hageneder that these have been included. If possible go and stand by or even hug the tree that holds the energy with which you are working before, after or even during the meditation. Again just imagining it or looking at a picture of the tree will help.

Crystals
It is with thanks to Judy Hall that these have been included. Hold the appropriate crystal whilst meditating or if you don’t have the crystal imagine you possess it.

This work is a gift from us to you, to be used or discarded as is your want.
To believe or not to believe, to love or to hate, to allow or not to allow.
Use your own discernment to choose what is right for you.
Never accept things at face value but listen and learn from your own innate wisdom.
We offer this work as a challenge and a service.
It is up to you how you receive it.

As it leapt out of the ocean waves, like a huge bellowing humpback whale, it stopped and so did the tremors, simultaneously. Everybody looked in awe, they were beginning to feel that they were watching something out of a science fiction movie. A behemoth island formation had risen from the ocean depths to greet them – at the centre of the Earth.’

The modern world has developed into a state of illusion (Maya) of the extreme dimension. The book explains with the help of facts from the modern science, how with the practice of Yog science it enables the human beings of all ages to solve the problems of life. Everyone in the modern world has to face situations, which cause stress. Even the children are not spared from stress. The society of competition and the burden of work have their price for the mental and the physical state of a person.

In the books of Yog science in India the explanations are given in the form of religious belief. The religious belief hinders the practical application in daily life. The use of the religious belief is then confined within the room of worship in the house. The facts of modern science when used to interpret, makes the whole science of Yog practical in each area of life and for all age groups. The modern science gives the answer of “why it is so?” The practice of Yog is then brought to the reality in a world of illusion. In a world of illusion the ego rules the life, whereas the inner self takes the backbench.

The book gives information on training of the brain, even at old age. Forgetfulness is one of the many problems at old age. In the book is described how to overcome this with the help of certain Yog practices. Yog teaches to lead an inner active life and an active person overcomes the life problems with more success than a person passive inside.

STRESS! Yes we all have it in today’s modern lifestyle and stress can become a constant companion, having a negative impact on mental and physical wellbeing. All of us have inner resources to combat this and meditation can assist you and encourage you to live a stress free life.

Meditation is a powerful tool for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual development. Withdrawing the senses from external stimuli allows us to focus the conscious mind inwardly. With proper instruction we can relax, replenish the central nervous system and eliminate stress and anxiety.

All too often people experience life as conveyor belt, with daily repetitive tasks resulting in a feeling of existing rather than being truly engaged in purposeful living. Meditation can assist us by raising awareness for developing the unlimited potential of who we are and what we can achieve.

When you understand that everything you do is a direct result of what you believe, think and feel from within, you will soon discover that as you change internally, your external reality changes with you.

He thinks of his dogs, the Finca in the olive grove, his wooden boat; how they struggled to get there, the sleepless nights and the worry of whether he would ever see England again. The phone keeps ringing, the wind is howling and as he peers through the window watching the clouds racing past the pale moon, he knows that when he picks up the phone, his life will never be the same again.

It is a warm, human account of female Ivorites and child labour, truck shops and company doctors all featuring in Nantybar. Developed from one woman’s obsession with tracing the history of a lost village, this little book is a model for aspiring authors and one that conveys beautifully the delight that local history can generate.

This book addresses these subjects of prime importance and so touches us all, not only the researchers, businessmen and politicians, and our children. In addition, International Biotechnology adds a philosophical and human dimension to what could be viewed as a purely academic subject.

Key points are included with each chapter so that for the time poor reader, the main points are made clear. By employing the references provided, which are all downloadable from the world wide web, one can delve even more deeply into aspects that appear most relevant at the time.

Overall, International Biotechnology is an excellent resource to either read cover to cover, or keep on the shelf to dip into when the need arises.

A long, long time ago, back in the lost and forgotten world of the Implings, reigned a great monarch named Queen Bryonia who ruled the lands of Alfinio. Her palace lay deep within the subterranean forests of Fahl where she strove to help others who were much less fortunate than herself.
One of the persecuted groups of animals that the Queen had promised to protect was the shrews who lived within a settlement in an adjoining world. Now for those of you who don’t know what a shrew is, well….it’s an extremely shy mouse-like creature, rarely ever seen by us. And even I, being a farmer’s lad, have only managed to see but two or three in my whole lifetime thus far.

Lying in wait out there, and ready to steel away the Queen’s powers and de-throne her, sending all of these joyous worlds into a darkness of despair, disorder and distress, was her arch enemy, the evil imp of the night thorn who had started off in the palace as one of her majesty’s most loyal subjects and was her personal adviser too until one day he happened to turn bad and his main aim in life became to destroy all things good and everything that he would touch, he would try his hardest to turn into something evil.

But caught up in the heart of this battle was an albino shrew named Snowy who, with a boy imp called Joebe Murrow, took on the evil imp of the night thorn. This imp, for his dark dealings had been banished forever from the lands of Alfinio by Queen Bryonia, a long time ago. And as he lay there in wait within his new found home of the poisonous night thorn tree, loitering like a demon of the dark, he longed for the ultimate prize to come to him. This was the thing called the sleepy dust light that, once every thousand years, had to make its way out from the safety of the lands of Alfinio, and into the unprotected world of the shrew.

Kregor Mankovitch was determined from the very beginning to succeed and be a rich man irrespective of the circumstances and he was even prepared to murder should anyone stand in his way. He was not aware that the job in the oil field in Novosibirsk, which was imposed on him, would ultimately lead him to the great wealth and fame he dreamt of and that he would be a significant philanthropist in Finland. Kregor Mankovitch brilliantly and masterfully manipulated his boss in the oil field and managed to siphon millions of barrels of crude oil worth tens of millions of dollars without being caught or questioned. It was doubly amazing to sell the oil to existing customers of the oil field and pocket all the proceeds for himself. He became famous by building and donating hospitals, schools, and scholarships to Finland. He also donated hospitals to Denmark and Norway. He was finally honoured by the President of Finland and by Her Majesty The Queen of Denmark.
