The Perfect reason why we exist:

Peter Harrison author of 'If Winter Comes' sent us in some press cuttings which only go to prove why we exist - Yes those good old boys at the traditional publishing houses really getting their act together and taking 2 years not to give Peter an answer. Peter send us 3 articles, which roughly said the same things so I quote you from one (reproduced by kind permission of The Sale and Altrincham Messenger)

FRUSTRATED by a publisher's delay in, making a decision about his children's book, Storth author Peter Harrison is inviting readers to subscribe to its publication to help speed up the process. Mr Harrison's book 'If Winter Comes..' is set amid the glorious scenery of the Arnside/Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and tells the story of a gallant band of. Swallows who attempt to save the life of their, old leader after he announces that he is now too old and weak to make the winter migration to the warmth and safety of Africa. , The book has now been with a. well known publisher for more than two years but although. Mr Harrison says he has been assured the book will definitely be published, no firm date has been set. . Now the book is accessible through the website www.authorsonline.co.uk find it by entering, the author's name in. the search box ,and if enough readers express an interest in it, it will become available in print form. "It may well be vanity publishing via the Internet says ,Mr Harrison. "But if it' was good enough in the days of the great Dr Johnson, when authors often got people to promise to buy a book before it was printed, then it's' good enough for me Among.the recognisable locations featured in the book are the Kent estuary saltmarshes, Morecombe Bay's'tidal bore, Leighlon.Moss nature reserve and the dense woodlands lying at the foot of Arnside Knott. Peter Harrsion may be remembered by, older readers as a reporter;on the old'BBC regional programme 'Look North', Presented. by Stuart Hall,: in the 1970's

NB This book has since been published by AuthorsOnLine in paperback - ED
