Richard Armour the author of 'The Habit' aims to raise some serious money for cancer research by competing in the London Triathlon on 30th July. Richard's father died of the disease in 2000 and Richard has taken up the cause with a vengeance and has an excellent website dedicated to the purpose.
He has so far raised nearly £10,000 over 2 years and would appreciate anybody's assistance who feels they would like to help by visiting ForMyDad.co.uk and making an online donation.
Additionally of course, anybody who happens to be in the Docklands area of London on 30th July, if you want to watch a bunch of super-fit madmen swim 750 Metres (In the Thames!!??), cycle 20 Kilometres and then run 5 Kilometres, its really quite a sight. Our editor was once involved with the catering for the very first London Triathlon (don't ask!), so he can recommend it as an event worth sponsoring. Anybody who actually completes the course deserves all the money they can raise for their chosen charity!
Finally if you haven't already done so we can also recommend Richard's book - its a cracking thriller! Click on the book cover to read all about it
