LONDON BOMB BLASTS

We would like to say a big thank you for all the messages we have received from various people including our fellow authors, colleagues and friends from around the world, who have expressed their concern, horror and sympathy for the tragic outrages committed in London on Thursday morning.

I am please to say that to our knowledge no member of Authors OnLine, its Authors, or their families have so far been reported to us as directly affected by these outrages. With over 700 injured and incomplete lists of the dead being issued by the authorities however, it is possible that may change over the coming days.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have been affected by this tragedy.

I don't know who they thought they were attacking, but by making their target Central London the answer would appear to be 'their fellow man, the human race', since they have managed to kill and injury right across the ethnic divide, Christian, Jew, Moslem, Hindu, Buddhist, Black, White, Asian, Arab. All have suffered in this indiscriminate attack. And it won't change anything in their favour. If anything it will make the people of London closer. I would remind them we have been here before and history tells us this sort of thing just makes us even more determined to root out such evil in our society - Ed
