MILLER CALDWELL PONDERS FINDING AN AGENT
Jul 31st 2006
Having written a novel in 2003, I wondered if I needed a literary agent. The thought might have come to you too.

So I contacted many publisher's agents and despite informing them Operation Oboe was not my only book, that it was being adapted to a film script in Los Angeles and I had started another novel, it seemed without being a celebrity, Agents give up with all other authors. I tried again. This time name dropping shamelessly that I was related to Robert Burns, Tommy Hilfiger, Lord Clyde and Jock Tamson. I confirmed Miller Caldwell was not a pseudonym, but that took me nowhere. I thought of breaking my metatarsals....!

On the eve of publishing my second novel, Restless Waves, I am relaxed. I can simply add my new book to my webpage at www.millercaldwell.org , contact Border TV, Radio Scotland, The Dumfries Standard, continue with my evening talks to clubs - this month Invergowrie Primary School, Aimisfield Primary, Retired Police Officers Association and the Georgetown Community club. In the diary over the next few weeks, there are talks at the Arthritis members club and Probus. Weddings in London and Lochearnhead in July are not talks but my new business card will be ready to go out and then in the autumn I start another novel. What's it about? Well printer's ink used to come from Germany. My great uncle went there to get it between 1910-14. He had a good German friend when he was in this business. A man of his age. They met again in the trenches during WW1. Could they survive? Would they desert? What were the odds? What would become of them? You will find out in 2007!

And the first to know will be my agent. Yes, he's Richard Fitt. Let Authors OnLine, in its new uniform be your Agent! After all, you are guaranteed a first class quality book and with an honest, hard working, diligent team backing you and your sales, Richard is doing as much as many Literary Agents do.

The rest is up to you. You can also support your fellow Authors OnLine too. This year already I have purchased two eclectic books - Hazel's Homegrown and Who Killed Jill Dando? Both exceptionally well written and produced. Perhaps I'll be buying your book next.

So from now on, if you are an author on the brand new Authors OnLine webpage, why don't you join me in naming Richard Fitt as your Agent. And support all our books on AuthorsOnLine.co.uk
