Where is your writing taking you?
Oct 10th 2007
Publishing a book can have its own spin off rewards, as illustrated by this e-mail we recently received clearly demonstrates:

"Recently I have been commissioned to provide a booklet for all NHS domestic patients. The booklet provides medical information, personal and family pages, which are important for all the specialists who tend to our illness as we grow older: genealogists, chiropodists, health visitors, GPs, community mental health officers, community nurses et al. All will have access to the medical pages. But it will also provide a cherished memento for those who mourn the patient in due course. This booklet, sponsored by Age Concern and the Alzheimer Society will be published at the end of the year.

Meantime, I have been appointed to serve the Media Cross Party Committee sitting at the Scottish Parliament. Now I had better be careful what I am saying to you down south but the standard of television is so bad these days that we are wishing to add the portfolio of Media to the Scottish Parliament to fund local film script writers and film makers.

Why am I telling you all of this? Well, without AuthorsOnLine producing my Memory Book, the Medical profession would not have commissioned me to write IT'S ME HONEST IT IS!

And without Chris Ballance MSP knowing about the books I have written, I would not have been invited to be on the Cross Party Media Committee.

My message is to all other Authors at Authors OnLine. Where has their writing led them?"
