Since we publish a wide variety of subjects with huge diverse opinions by authors from all over the world, we normally restrain from expressing any kind of political opinion. However on this one occasion, we feel it is very appropriate to break that rule and offer our congratulations to Barack Obama on his historical victory in becoming the 44th President of the United States of America. For us he appears to have all the right credentials for the job, and has certainly galvanised Americans into the voting booths in a way never before seen in history. We hope he can galvanise government in the same way.

There is a huge weight of expectation upon his shoulders which , sadly in the reality of the modern world is unlikely to ever be fully fulfilled, but at least the global mood on the morning after election day, is extremely positive and upbeat. And you haven't been able to say that about anything political for a very long time. We wish President Obama all the luck in the World, sadly he'll probably need it.
