PATRICK NEWLEY was born in 1955 and is a longstanding contributor to both The Times and The Stage newspapers. He has also written for The Daily Express, Gay News and many other publications. A frequent broadcaster for the BBC he was press agent for the writers Quentin Crisp and Robin Maugham. He also managed the latter careers of both the legendary revue artiste Douglas Byng and the cult comedian Mrs Shufflewick (Rex Jarneson). In 2000 he directed 'Mad' Frankie Fraser in 'An Evening with Mad Frankie' at the Jermyn Street Theatre, London.
